maddness up in here

well with mid-terms last week i have papers and homework piled high... im pulling through it all! :)

life is still really good here a Central, and im still really glad that im here, there is still no where else i would wanna be!

one thing i have noticed lately is that people here say broke, instead of broken... haha. ive caught it a few times this week...

one person said, "is your sniffer broke?" this conversation had come up earlier this week with her... and she told us she would say BROKEN... but she used the other... so we got happy go lucky with that one. haha.

last week we had our open dorms for my dorm (there are three dorms on campus and each one has one per semester) so lori and i cleaned like crazy, and our room is back to its maddness, which isnt bad, but it could be more clean than it is.

it went well tho. i had fun being able to host my guy friends for once.

we have been collecting some qoutes throught the semester, and started a quote wall.

Justin says "you cant get colds over the phone can you?"

Tiffany says, "when were you going towards the east coast?... like to idaho or something?"

ya we have fun.

well its 12:30, and i really should be in bed... haha.

love you all!!!
ps. i only have 2 more weeks of school til thanksgiving break! I CANT WAIT!

"an abundance of high fives"

OH MAN! has God blessed me!!!

Central is amazing, i know ive already said that... but truely... it is.

just alittle background. The first picture is of the group of girls that i have been hanging out with... they are all amazing!

my room mate is STILL amazing!

we like to make fun of people who are constantly on their celluar phones (haha!)

Sonic has become a ritual... just about every sunday or so, agroup of us go and just hang, have fun with the hoppers, and man its great. Get this, the guy in the pic at sonic that has a beard... his name is Cash... ITS AN AWESOME NAME! i just felt like sharing that with you all.

The girl sitting next to him... her name is Sam... we instantly clicked... shes from MN and get this... her last name... is SKORSETH!

first day of choir, they didnt know how to pernounce her name, so she was like ... "SKORSETH, ryhmes with Borseth", and then gave me a giant high five. people thought that was pretty funny.

God has seriously blessed me here. Before i left home i was really praying that God would plant me in a church that i could feel used at, because the ministry i left was a total blessing to me, and i wanted to continue the same type of ministry.

well 2 sundays ago i visited this church called Rocky Fork Fellowship. and it reminded me of Borderlands when it first started. so i was very interested to revisit the church. Well that same first sunday, the music minister was talking to a bunch of visiting students from Central, and i decided to go check out what they were talking about. when i worked my way up to the group he saw a new observer was there... he turned to me and said, do you play any insturments? of course i told him no, but i sung, and he invited me to come to their worship practice on thurs night and see how i liked it. so i took that leap of faith, and he approached me at the end of practice and asked if i would be willing to sing THE FOLLOWING SUNDAY!!! I was shocked.

God is still showing me that he knows the desires of our hearts.

about the youth ministry... i had asked them about it, and at the time they didnt have one going. (sadly) but they told me that the newly hired youth pastor would be coming in a couple of weeks.
the sunday i sung, i was just talking to a friendly man, and he told me he forgot to introduce himself to me... It was the new youth pastor! I had previously told him about my life and involvement at home, and he asked me if i would be interested being involved in the youth ministry at Rocky Fork, so of course, i said i would love to. Well later on i had to give him my information, and he told me he was excited to be working with me since i had a little background work in the area.

again, God knows and listens to the desires of our hearts!!!

every weekend i have been here, we have gone into columbia, and everytime, it has been great!

whether it has been witnessing to homeless on the streets, to standing outside a pizza place and learning new dances, to going to the vinitge stores and trying on funky clothing, it all has been a blast. last sat we went to the Artisan (and awesome coffee shop) and studied until a guy came and played his guitar and sung on the stage.

i love the college life.

i know a few of you have mentioned it to me before i left for school... about meeting a guy, HAHA! i know youre probably wondering... but no there has been no interests here.

and probably wont be. im open to it, but im having so much fun with the place im in, i dont care right now.

My favorite class is Christian Discipleship taught by our missions ministry director.
he is stinkin awesome. there are many reasons why this is the class i love, not only that we dont have tests or a final, but because the Teacher isnt speaking to us, he speaks with us, sometimes he asks what the think about things, and just listens to our response, and sometimes we watch a rob bell video, and then get in small groups and answer questions.
its a great class, and i wish that we had it every semester, i dont want it to end.

the reason why i havent writen in a while is cause im so extreamly busy with homework, and reading, and studying. i should be doing it right now, but ive been thinking about brandon, and how i wanted to update you guys.

i have my street adress now, so ill give it to brandon, and seriously i would love to get letters, drawings, colorings, packages, anything you guys would wanna send me! (wink, hint hint) haha.

ill send something back to ya if you do! (haha what an incentive).

a couple of things you could be praying about.

  • we as students here a Central need to remember that there is a world out there, and that we cant stay in our own little bubble all the time. i was showed this the other day when i was at the dollar store with Lori (my roomie) and a lady just randomly started talking to us. it came up that her cancer had come back, and she was only given a few months to live, so if you ever think of her, her name is Linda, and there isnt a day that goes by i dont think of her.
  • another thing is for focusing. its so hard being in a new place, wanting to get to know people, and having so much to do with so little hours to do it. so focusing on homework and reading. (blah)
  • also, im applying for jobs, so keep that in mind.
  • also, that my friends in Rockford who i felt like i was being a minister to ive talked to about 3 of them already, and its awesome! one of them (i hadnt seen her all summer) has totally had her eyes open to God, and its not because of me, but because of what we have talked about, and what has been going on in her life lately. (she asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding this summer!) :) so just that i can keep in touch with them.
  • man the list just goes on!!!

again... I LOVE YOU ALL!!! please keep in touch!!!

muah!!!

First day of classes

oh man... its been a crazy week.

we dont have classes on monday. :)
tues and wed we did new student orientation stuff... kinda pointless, but whatever.

lets see....
tues night i went into Columbia (about 30 mins south) with some people from the college, and my friend who introduced me to the college (whom i know from AZ when i lived there... his name is Garrett... )

we went to this coffee shop called the Artisan, (amazing atmosphere!)
and then went bowling... (crazy to say, but it was a nicer place than what we have in Rockford!)

then last night we had a Convocation Celebration kicking off the 51st year of Central. I really enjoyed this time, its so great to be worshiping with peers that are at the same place in thier life that you are!

i cant wait for our first chapel tomorrow!

last night i went to sonic once again... and had a blast! i love the large group of girls that i have been hanging out with. Its crazy how God has provided friends here for me!
i was really praying that i wouldnt have to "lean" on Garrett for a group of friends to hang out with, and God has answered that prayer!

my room mate is still stinking amazing!

for any of you students who are reading this... THIS IS THE BEST PLACE I COULD IMAGINE GOD LEADING ME TO! i would like to encourage you that if you have even the littlest inkling to go into ministry, look into a bible college, and pray about it!
i still have absolutely no regrets (except of missing people alittle ) for leaving the comfort of home, and my friends, and the amazing Heartbeat ministry i was involved in.
dont get me wrong, i do miss it, but... God has blessed me so much already and i havent even been here for a week yet!

this excites me even more for what God will be doing in my life within the next couple of years here!

i had my first class today at 8AM, and dont have another one till 1PM. my first class was Life of Christ 101. and man, i am going to HAVE to be organized with this class, so many assignments, i dont think it will be hard, but im just gonna have to keep my self motivated.

im looking forward to meeting more people as classes progress!

DUDE I LOVE IT HERE!

Love you all!

i know that my mom is reading this so...

MOM!- i love you, and miss you, but im so glad you trust what God is doing in my life and allow me to step out in faith !

i know Brandon is reading this....

BRANDON!- thank you so much for all the encouragement these past 2 years! and i will surely miss the laughs we had, and i will def keep in touch with you! and i cant wait for the one night/morning i can step my foot back into your ministry for that day, and just see how the students have progressed.

i know that Josh is reading this...

joshUwha! - i miss you bud! im praying for you! dont fail to keep intouch with me! thank you for all the times you have been there for me! and i hope that you can continue to trust me as a friend, and not leave me out of your life in rockford! I cant wait for the one day i get to see you again and just be the two goof balls that we are when we are together!!

Registration

CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY!!! i tell you!

man early morning, with some hand book review... didnt really get why we really had to be there... we could read it ourselves but all things happen for a reason (as God keeps on reminding me as im here at school)

the one thing i prayed about before i came to school was my room mate... i was praying that she would be able to open up like i tend to do and that we would be able to understand each other, and get along real well... GOD IS AMAZING! we have gotten along so well!!! there she is... (the pic) her name is Lori, and shes is an amazing girl!!! we hope to make it back to rockford sometime and hopefully some of you who are reading this can meet her. she has already encouraged me so much with my walk with Christ. She is going into Missions, and has such an awesome heart for it. Lori is totally amazing! She is not from the same type of back ground as i am, meaning not from a christian family, so its awesome that i can hear her point of views and just get to know eachother. It is soooo true that God provides, because He totally has for me in this situation!

enough about my room mate...

haha

school... lets see... well we havent started yet... WE NEVER HAVE CLASSES ON MONDAY!!! (amazing!)

but i registered today, and got all my classes and books, and my parking pass and all that fun stuff... i did decided to stay in choir, cause i have met some people who are in it, and im excited to have a class with them .

tomorrow is new student oreintation stuff. and same with wed. therefore, CLASSES DONT START TILL THURS! :)

man i have a sweet schedual. no classes on monday,

heavy load (17) Credits... im really praying i can stay focused this semseter!

but im so excited about growing in the Lord!

today we had a "family" (all school) Picnic... GREAT! and then all the girls (about 9 of us) went and did some racing on a blow up thingy... haha

WORSHIP was after that... (im so happy to have a time to worship again!)

then we listened to the "harvesters" (our missions commitee)

sounds amazing! i cant wait to be involved in missions stuff again!

there is a conference in November that i really wanna go to.. but we will see, its $200 and im not totally sure i can afford that right now.

but if im meant to go (which i hope and pray i am) God will provide.

then the girls and i came back to the dorm (amazing! i love living in the dorms) and we watched ... none other than... THE NEWSIES!!! :) haha!

well i think thats long enough!

love you all at home

a couple of things you can pray about...

my room mate has been sick for a few days now, we tried to go to the imidiate care today, but it was closed by the time we could get there. so pray that she will feel better soon.

also, that school will go as great as it has these past 3 days... God has blessed me so much with what has happened, and i wouldnt change a thing about it!! :)

OH BOY! im excited to see whats instore...

time for God time! :)

day after move in

so yesterday i moved into my dorm... got here at about 9 oclock... and my room mate didnt get here till about 11:30ish... which it totally cool... it worked out really well that way.
shes completely cool, and im so blessed to have Lori as my roommate.
last night we went to the harvest house (centrals cafe) and it was jsut a time to hang out, play games... (josh youll be happy, we played boggle... )
anyway, so that was good. met alot of girls through that.
then we went to walmart, moberlys staple.
today we had a service... and it really pressured me to keep a good prayer life. which i totally needed the encouragement.
then we split off into our service groups (there were ten of us). AMAZING! i love it! we went to a church who is just setting up a preschool, and we pulled weeds out of the ground and layed some cloth stuff down so that they could put rocks on top of that.
i felt so productive... we got back.. I GOT TO TAKE ANOTHER SHOWER! (so good i was sweating so badly)
and... went to dinner, then we went to a house to hang out with our service groups again... but it was nice... we had ice cream, hung out talked alittle, played APPLES TO APPLES! :)
came back and we decided to go hang out at .... SONIC!! YES!
had cherry limeade! :)
man ive been so encouraged already in these past 2 days,
if i went home tomorrow, i would be fullfilled. im so excited to see what God is going to be doing in my life.

tomorrow i register, therefore, i will knowby then if im going to stay in choir or not.
please pray for me as the semester progresses, and let me know if i can pray for you about anything!

LOVE YOU ALL!!
